With the project “PoKupi, Iskoristi, Očisti!”, The City of Ozalj and the municipalities of Kamanje, Žakanje, Ribnik and Draganić will educate citizens on waste sorting and the new actions of waste management. The project is co-financed by the Ministry of Environment and Energy in the amount of HRK 376,982.57 t, while the total value is HRK 443,508.92. The project aims to contribute to education of the population and to build public awareness and understanding of the importance of waste management.
The presentation of the project and the announcement of the activities were organized on Wednesday, 9.10. at the Azelija-eko Recycling Yard, Milan Herak Street 11, Ozalj.
On Wednesday, representatives of the media were informed about the project and other activities related to topic by: Mayor of the City of Ozalj – Gordana Lipšinić, Director Azelija eko doo – Miroslav Cigić, Director of the Elementary School Slava Raškaj – Gordana Basar and Senior Expert Associate for the Economy and Projects of the City of Ozalj- Toni Saric.
Project activities include educational activities for children and citizens – workshops, plays, as well as organizing public forums, all on the topic of sustainable waste management. In cooperation with schools, competitions and activities on important dates were organized and implemented. Also, a competition for the best local committee in waste collection and sorting activities will be organized in the scope of the project. The project will also include the distribution of leaflets, brochures and the creation of posters on waste prevention, separate waste collection and composting.
